Sounds like this?

  • Charging icon doesn't appear
  • Charges very slowly
  • 'Accessory not supported'
  • Charges only at an angle

Step by step

  1. Try another cable, another adapter, and another outlet.
  2. Look into the port with a flashlight. Lint from pockets often blocks it. Gently lift it out with a wooden toothpick.
  3. Remove thick cases that keep the plug from seating fully.
  4. Force restart the phone.
  5. Wireless charging: center the phone on the pad and remove the case if it's thick or has a metal plate.
  6. Check whether a charge limit is on: iPhone 15 and later have an 80% limit option in Settings › Battery › Charging; many Androids have Protect battery.
