Step by step

  1. Restart the printer, the computer, and the Wi-Fi router.
  2. Check the printer's own screen or network report to confirm it's connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer (not a guest network).
  3. Windows: Settings › Bluetooth & devices › Printers & scanners › your printer › Open print queue. Cancel all stuck jobs. Make sure Use printer offline isn't ticked under the Printer menu.
  4. Mac: System Settings › Printers & Scanners. Select the printer and open the print queue; resume it if paused.
  5. Remove the printer and add it again.
  6. Install the maker's software or driver (HP Smart, Epson, Canon, Brother) from their official site.
